The Big Creek Historical Society was the recipient of a $2,500 Polk County Community Betterment Grant awarded by Tom Hockensmith, 3rd District County Supervisor. The grant money will be used to purchase display cases that will house the collections of the Historical Society and continue the restoration of the historic city hall building in Polk City 

 

POLK CITY CHAMBER EARNS COUNTY GRANT — The Polk County Board of Supervisors has awarded $3,000 to the Polk City Chamber of Commerce as part of the Community Betterment Grant program. The grants are awarded each year out of Polk County’s revenues from owning Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino. The grant to the Polk City Chamber is in support of its marketing efforts for the Polk City community.
